Internships
Internships are a great way to gain experience, learn the ropes of a business and find out more about your own preferences on the job. To help college students build their resumes and better direct their next career steps, we offer three tracks for training and hands-on experience:
- Internships
- Administrators in Training
- Job Shadowing
Internships
You don’t have to major in a medical field to train at Meadowlark. We have internships in all areas of our business, including fitness, hospitality and support services. We do our best to match the right opportunity with your background and goals.
Administrators in Training (AIT)
College students with an emphasis in long-term care can participate in our AIT internship program. This program is offered in partnership with select colleges and universities for students whose majors require this specialized internship. For example, students with a concentration in long-term care administration must complete an AIT internship. Schools may require anywhere from 480 to 600 hours of work during the internship. This program exposes students to all aspects of the senior-care industry.
Job Shadowing
College students majoring in therapeutic and healthcare fields can take advantage of our job shadowing program. We offer several tracks: therapeutic, dietician and medical services. Job shadowing for physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT) and speech therapy (ST) is administered through a third party. The time commitment varies, typically involving 10 to 15 hours, and can be completed in a few weeks. We also offer job shadowing at our on-site physician’s office, which is great for pre-nursing and pre-med majors to observe a working medical office.
How It Works
